Let's Go Fly a Kite . . .
. . . well photograph one anyway - a sunny winter afternoon up at Nant yr Arian attempting to snap the Red Kite feeding frenzy.
Lots and lots and lots of kites - but they move so fast it's very difficult to get a decent shot . . .
This was the best I could do!

Out and About
A family visit saw us out and about over the bank holiday weekend . . .
Checking out the Aber Cyclefest races in town.

Up to Nant-yr-Arian for a photo shoot with the Kites.

And the now traditional visit to Llanerchaeron - sun shone beautifully, toured the gardens, saw some pigs, ate some cake.
The highlight was probably watching one of the chickens trying to escape the others with his purloined slice of ham . . . a joy to behold!
All in all, it would have been a great weekend - except for the cold from hell which descended on me on the Sunday, and took some shaking.

In the Eye of the Beholder
Still on holiday, and finally some sunshine - Martin duly headed out on his bike up to Nant yr Arian, while I got out into the garden.
Had intended to do some weeding in the fruit cage, but it struck me that we seemed to have less snowdrops in the garden than of yore, and I was inspired to investigate . . .
Two hours later - one large pile of ivy, and lots more visible snowdrops. Yay!
All that scrabbling about under shrubs was not without its downside though - successfully avoided the magnolia branches, but fell prey to a hydrangea . . .

Martin meanwhile was enjoying some fantastic views, with a dusting of snow on the high ground:
Nice to see the sun, and enjoy the fresh air, although could have done without the poke in the eye!

The Blog Where Not Much Happened

Well, it's been a quiet month from a blog perspective - very busy in work, so not much time for other stuff.
I can offer you another picture of a large deckchair (this one sitting in what was the paddling pool, but which is now a sandpit, but which looks like a paddling pool because it's rained a lot!).

And this photo of the red kites gathering for feeding time at Nant yr Arian on a lovely sunny late October afternoon.
Might have more to say in November!
