Christmas Starts Here . . .

Time for some Christmas 'bling' methinks . . .

Have to make the most of it - especially as 'constructing' the tree is a right faff (only exceeded by that of deconstructing it again).  Fair play though, it has done us well, over 20 years of Christmases and hopefully a few more to come!

Nadolig Llawen!

Christmas Eve shadows on the prom looking out to sea (after a day of preparing for the Christmas 'feast').

Christmas Day - cooking too much, eating too much, and washing up too much!

But still lovely to enjoy the day with family.

Then time to relax by the fire - with a glass of wine, and a special 'Christmas tree' from Martin - lovingly made from his used hankie!

Hope your day was just as full of good food, good company, and Christmas spirit (of whatever kind!).

Merry Christmas!

It's Christmas!

Well, it is December at least.

It may not quite be Christmas yet - but it doesn't seem inappropriate now to break out the decorations, and get the tree up.

Need to make the most of my Christmas Bling Time!

Unpacking Christmas

First Saturday in December, and the Christmas boxes are out of the cupboard . . . time to get decorating!

A few hours later (after a glass of wine or two) the tree is up, the lights are on, and the (empty) boxes are back in their cupboard.

Do like my Christmas sparkle!

Tree Up . . .

Time to put a tree up and get some Christmas bling on . . .

Christmas is Coming . . .

Work trip to London, but with a bit of spare time to wander round Covent Garden, where the forthcoming Christmas season was already well in evidence . . .

There was a busker just out of shot of this picture trying to attract an audience, and moaning loudly that people were more interested in a giant tree in a tub than they were in him!

Christmas Snowmen!

Despite all the snow outside we never did get round to building an actual snowman - although there were one or two to be found inside in the warm as part of what Martin refers to as my 'Christmas Bling' ...

It nevertheless seemed an appropriate theme for this year's Christmas Cake (which it looks like we'll be eating well into the New Year!):

All Things Christmas . . .

Another year, another Christmas . . .

Always feel a bit strange about it - not really religious, but love the Tree and the Lights and everything - maybe I'm harking back to Pagan Midwinters or something.

Kind of enjoy the cooking bit as well - although of course we then have to eat it all. Must admit to being rather chuffed with the way the cake turned out - well the way it looks anyway (the holly leaf cutter was well worth the £3.40 investment!) - of course it's already Boxing Day and there's so much else to eat we haven't got as far as cutting it yet!

Anyway, hope yours was a good one . . .
