It's been a while since my last weather update, so here's the run-down on August, September and October. A bit of a mixed-bag on the whole - some nice weeks, some wet ones, and we never really got that 'barbecue summer' the Met Office were promising. August was definitely an improvement on last year's month of grey though - and the end of October was also a little drier.
P.S. Given up on the weather station data for now - moved to Linux and now the software won't work at all!
In January 2008 we moved out of town, and acquired a garden and a view. For the most part this blog records what we've done in the garden / house, plus any odd musings on things I find of interest. Something nice (I hope) for us to look back on as memory fades . . . and a way of keeping friends and family up-to-date, which means I don't have to feel quite so guilty about not writing more often! It'll also remind us when we planted what . . .
January-February 2026 – Back to the world of St Mary's, albeit from another perspective with Jodi Taylor's The Ballad of Smallhope and Pennyroyal - as ever great stuff, very amusing, and nice to find out more about two of her more intriguing characters.
January 2026 – Something a bit different with a treatise on the possible origins of a 'real' Robin Hood, Sean McGlynn's Robin Hood: A True Legend - interesting read, and learnt some stuff I didn't know too.
