Hoping for a good summer this year - with a new gas barbecue, and a bistro set (to join the bench we bought last year), we're ready for some outside dining.
Martin is still stationed down South, and likes to keep me informed of his surroundings - today it was some stunning Bristol graffiti, but I've also had pics of pints from coastal beer gardens:

In January 2008 we moved out of town, and acquired a garden and a view. For the most part this blog records what we've done in the garden / house, plus any odd musings on things I find of interest. Something nice (I hope) for us to look back on as memory fades . . . and a way of keeping friends and family up-to-date, which means I don't have to feel quite so guilty about not writing more often! It'll also remind us when we planted what . . .
January-February 2026 – Back to the world of St Mary's, albeit from another perspective with Jodi Taylor's The Ballad of Smallhope and Pennyroyal - as ever great stuff, very amusing, and nice to find out more about two of her more intriguing characters.
January 2026 – Something a bit different with a treatise on the possible origins of a 'real' Robin Hood, Sean McGlynn's Robin Hood: A True Legend - interesting read, and learnt some stuff I didn't know too.
